Legends & labels
Control how your chart is labeled — and how your audience reads it.
Legends and data labels help clarify what’s being shown, especially in multi-series or comparison charts.
✅ How to adjust these settings
Both options are found in the Graph section of the toolbar:
🏷 Legend
Displays the name and color of each series in the chart
You can choose to show or hide the legend depending on what helps your audience
Legend position options vary by chart type:
Bar/Column/Line → Top, Right, or None
Pie charts → Above, Inline, or Right
Other types (e.g. Heatmaps, Tables) → Legend may be disabled by default
💡 Graphy selects a default layout, but you can adjust it manually.
🏷 Data Labels
Toggle on or off to show numeric values inside the chart
Options include:
Raw values (e.g. 200, 15K, $2.4M)
Percentages (e.g. 25%, 8.3%) — commonly used in pie or funnel charts
💡 Label type depends on chart context. Pie charts, for example, default to percentages.
🎯 Use for:
Making charts more readable at a glance
Showing exact values for comparisons
Clarifying what each color or line represents
💡 Tips
Turn off legends for single-series charts to declutter
Use data labels when exact values matter — but avoid overcrowding
Combine with Headline Numbers for layered insight
